GABE Ireland Ltd carried out the Obelisk Bridge rehabilitation works. The project replaced the reinforced concrete deck slab and installed a new waterproofing system. The team grit-blasted all steel elements and applied a protective paint system.
The works also included steel repairs and reinstatement of riveted connections. GABE repointed the abutments and rebuilt the southern approach walls. The project finished with new road surfacing and line marking.
